Looking for a way to give back to your Montgomery County community this holiday season? The Volunteers for Mental Health of Montgomery County are in need of students to help wrap gifts for nursing home and group home residents of our county. Swing by the auditorium tomorrow, Saturday, December 8th at 10:00 a.m. to help wrap gifts for those who are not always remembered during this time of year. This event also can serve as point opportunities for Honors Society and Sunshine. See you there!
Red Cross Lifeguard class is now open for registration. Lifeguarding is a tremendous summer and often year round job. Guards find work in local community, school, YMCA, state parks, and college pools. You must be 15 by April 1st 2019, and strong swimmer, able to pass a swimming test. Adults (teachers, coaches) are welcome. Download a flier at Crew272.org or call, text or message Brian Walker at 765-295-1548 (between 7pm and 9pm) for more information.
This is the 12th year the program has run! Hundreds of kids have gone through the program, many have guarded all the way through college, and many teachers/coaches have also got and kept their certifications! There is also a re-cert program, and teachers that need CPR certs are welcome to contact me and arrange to attend for just those skills.
Welcome to North Montgomery High School, an A rated school by the Indiana Department of Education. As Principal, I place great value on working in conjunction with students, staff, parents and the community to ensure we uphold the great tradition of the Chargin’ Chargers. The vision which guides us can be summed up in the acronym SAFE, which represents Skills to Achieve Future Excellence. More specifically, SAFE is our commitment to make sure North Montgomery High School is a place where students come first in everything we do. It is a place where a safe learning environment exists and where students acquire the 21st century skills needed to compete on a world stage. It is a place where our students are encouraged to challenge themselves both mentally and physically. Finally, North Montgomery High School is a place where the adults care about kids and make it their mission to prepare our students for life beyond these walls.
-Michael Cox, Principal
Decisions to delay the start of school, to dismiss early, or to cancel the entire day is made entirely on the consideration of student safety. Developing conditions during a winter storm may vary from one area of the county to another, but the appropriate response is made on a corporation-wide basis.
